Our sorority was founded on November 8th, 1998 at the University of Texas at Austin by our 27 Founders! Kappa Phi Gamma Sorority, Inc. is recognized as the world's first South-Asian interest sorority. Our founders wanted to create an organization that would be dedicated to the personal and professional development of South-Asian women. The sorority is South-Asian interest but we are not South-Asian exclusive! We have sisters from diverse backgrounds and welcome all who are interested in our organization. Kappa Phi Gamma Sorority, Inc. encourages collegiate young women who believe in our purpose to consider joining our organization.

Theta Chapter was established at Virginia Commonwealth University on March 6, 2005 by our 6 amazing Charters who had a vision of creating a close knit sisterhood while spreading South Asian awareness in the Richmond area. Since establishing, we have been diligently involved in our community through an abundance of events for the community.
